Soroptimist members make a difference for women and children through service projects. The projects are dictated by the needs of each community and, as a result, are as diverse as the organization's nearly 100,000 members. Some projects are specific to our local club, and some are a joint effort among many clubs at different levels of the organization.

Garden City Club Projects

• Children’s Holiday Party
• Family Advocacy Center and Education Services (FACES)
• Financial assistance to the Garden City Police Association & North Ada County Fire & Rescue “Holiday Families in Need” and Burn Out Fund
• Annual Spaghetti Feed fundraiser
• Annual President's Project: $1,000 goes to the project of the club president's choosing. Past presidents have chosen their funds to go to the Family Justice Center, FACES, and the Boys and Girls Club among others.

• Women's Opportunity Award: for a woman who provides the primary source of
  financial support for her family and seeks higher education
• Violet Richardson Award: for a girl, age 14 - 17, who does volunteer service

  women and girls through her personal or professional activities
